Kidnapping in Mexico

In Chihuahua, Mexico, the bodies of four men who were kidnapped were found in the back of a pick-up truck. They had been kidnapped at a wedding ceremony, when, gunmen with masks ran into the Church and killed a fifth person and kidnapped the groom, his brother, uncle, and an unknown wedding attender. People don't know whether it was gang or drug related, but the city in Chihuahua that it happened is known for its violence and there is a lot of crime that goes on. In 2009, there were 2,600 deaths that were drug related. This year, there have been about 870 deaths already, just in Juarez, Chihuahua. This state is the "hardest hit with drug violence." I think it's really sad and crazy how the drug lords and gangs are taking over the Mexico government. Right now, in some places, the government has no control over them and people are murdered daily in the streets. I think that it's sad that the people have to lose their lives to power hungry drug lords who have nothing better to do but kill people.

Jobs

I want to do so many different jobs, but a couple that I am interested in is being a psychologist and a baker, or head chef at a restaurant. I chose psychologist because I like talking to people and it would be fun and an interesting experience to analyze people's problems and try to help them work through them. The medium annual salary is $73,770 which is pretty good and the job itself sounds really interesting. The education needed is that I would need to have a doctoral degree or a bachelor's degree from the subject of Psychology. The other job, a baker and/or chef at a restaurant, has always been interesting to me and I've always wanted to be a chef since I was little.
The salary is about $30,000 a year and it requires going to a culinary school and having work experience. It would be fun to do both of these jobs.

If I could travel anywhere in the world, for three weeks, I would love to go to the Bahamas with some friends and travel around to different islands. I've always wanted to go there and I love the beach and tropical weather. It would be amazing to wake up every morning and go for a swim in the ocean and it wouldn't be too cold. I also want to get better at surfing and so it would be a perfect place to practice. It would be fun to go somewhere where it is warm and sunny and to meet other people to hang out with. It would be fun to go to the Bahamas because it is somewhere I've always wanted to go to. I would probably take summer clothes and some friends and it would be amazing. I probably wouldn't take much with me because, if I had $50,000 then I could most likely afford to buy things there. I would like to go parasailing, because I've done it before and it is amazing and it would be fun to surf and relax in the sun. =)

Bullying

When I read the article about a 15 year old girl who commited suicide because of bullying, I was pretty sad about it since I used to know someone close to my age that commited suicide. I learned from the article that bullying can actually really affect people, even if it doesn't look like it. I think the teens who bullied the girl should be arrested or taken to couseling or something because they are the ones who led the girl into a suicidal state. I have seen some bullying at this school, but not much. If you see someone being bullied and want to help, you could probably go to a counselor or teacher, or someone in charge at the school. From this really sad story, I think people should learn that even if you say something to someone and think it's not that mean, it might actually affect them in serious ways. That story is really sad...

Employers and Social Networking

Supposedly employers are now looking for job applicants and judging them for what they see on the internet, like Facebook and Myspace. From their Facebook page, they can see if the applicants would make good employees or not. I think that the employers are pretty smart for doing this, and it is alright because the Facebook page is public and the employees should know not to put bad things on their pages. But, I also think that the employers don't have any right to just look at the person's profile secretly, to judge how they would work. You can't really believe everything you see online and I think it's not really fair for the employers to judge someone just by their profiles. Sometimes, what we see on people's profiles are accurate, but not all the time because some people pretend to be people they are not. Personally, I probably would not show my Facebook page to my employers, because they would probably not like everything they saw.

:D

Well, I guess I'll start with what I'm going to do this weekend. There's going to be a benefit for Haiti by where I live and so I think I'll probably work there or just hang out with some people. My sister's leaving tomorrow to go back to Santa Cruz so we'll probably do something fun before she leaves, like going to the beach. The last time I was over at Mendocino, it was amazing and really nice out, so we'll probably head over there for awhile. Collie Buddz, one of my favorite musicians, is haveing a concert in Santa Cruz sometime soon so I'll hopefully be going to that with my sister, some cousins, and friends. I'm not sure where I'm going this summer yet, but I'm hoping to go to Reggae on the river with some friends...should be pretty amazing :)
I don't really know what else I should talk about, so that's it for now...

Dream car

One "affordable" dream car that I found was a BMW 128i, Coupe style. It is white and really cute :) It gets 28 MPG and the insurance can be cheaper if you get at least a B average in your grades at school. If so, the insurance company can give you up to a 25% discount. I really like this car because of how it's made and because it's a stick-shift, which is really fun to drive. Some cool things about it is that it has heated seats and a sunroof, which is pretty awesome. It isn't my total dream car, but pretty nice anyway.
